On April 16, 2009, a joint venture was established in the north-eastern province of Liaoning in the city of Anshan, the Angang BK Giulini Water Treatment Co. Ltd. (ABKG).

This was an important step for BKG Water Solutions, as it further develops the business in China.

The new company is a joint venture of the Angang Industry Group (AGIG) and BK Giulini, each holding a 50% interest.

Our joint venture partner AGIG is a subsidiary of Ansteel and provides infrastructure services within the group, such as maintaining buildings, erecting facilities and plants, but also operating canteens.

Ansteel is the second largest steel producer in China and runs several steel production facilities in China’s north with a production capacity of about 30 million tons of iron and steel. Their own power stations and mines for extracting coal and iron ore are in operation there. The Ansteel group employs approximately 135,000 people.

The JV is based on the excellent references BK Giulini water treatment has in Europe’s steel industry. The new company will assume the role of systems supplier for the complete water treatment process and will further develop water treatment activities in China.
