After taking over the water treatment business of Henkel KGaA in January 2008, BK Giulini further expanded its activities in the area of water treatment – BKG Water Solutions - and is now one of the leading suppliers in the field of drinking water treatment in Germany.

Metakorin was active in drinking water treatment for more than 30 years and cooperated closely with the former Henkel water treatment unit. Especially the advanced phosphate and silicate technologies and processes developed by Metakorin were implemented with great success in waterworks. These solutions enable to avoid any kind of corrosion in the water distribution system – from the point where the water leaves the water production plant until the point of consumption at the household water tap. Metakorin collaborated in the development of the processes with leading organizations in Germany, e.g. GTZW, IWW, KIWA and others.

With the acquisition of Metakorin, BKG Water Solutions includes in its portfolio the following technologies:

• Carbosil TWH-products: Carbonate-activated, phosphate-containing silicate solutions
• Carbosil SC-products: Carbonate-activated, phosphate-free silicate solutions
• Phosan-products: Phosphate solutions
• Integration Method^®: Innovative process and equipment, which allow to customize the mixture of silicate / ortho phosphate,silicate/ortho- and polyphosphate compounds for each water quality.
